Landscape Design
On site assessment and initial consultation. Soil Assessment, Measurements, and the choosing of climate and micro-climate suitable plants. We will discuss your budget for the landscape at the initial consultation, and what your desires are for the landscape. We will talk about the "problem" areas in your landscape. We will discuss points of view to be complimented, and any negative elements that need disguise, screening or to just go away. Deliverables will include one conceptual colored plan, a black and white detailed planting plan with a key, and an "After-care" manual, to know what it is to keep your landscape looking it's best. I am a trained River-Friendly Green Gardener, and I am also a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL). As such we will look at ways to improve your soil and water usage, just 2 of the keys to successful landscaping,. I am also a proponent of minimal pesticide use, and we will find "Green" solutions as much as possible. In addition, I have an Associate of Science in Sustainable Landscape and Irrigation Systems Design. Full set of plans with planting and any other special instructions included.
Landscaping Coaching
I love helping people connect with the beauty they have existing in their yards already. Coaching for pruning, amending soil, and planting. Some people already have the "bones" of a great yard, but don't know how to execute them. Let me give you a fresh perspective!
Residential Irrigation Efficiency
Do you feel your water usage and bill are too high? Prepare for more. There is a law (AB1880,) known as MWELO the Model Water Efficiency Landscape Ordinance, informally called the "20% by 2020." It means that all water/ irrigation districts in the State of California have to reduce their water usage from 2007 levels by 20%. Because of the drought in CA, many water districts have installed this or more stringent requirements for water usage. The main way to ensure this usage decline, will be to increase your water bill. Do you love your landscape? Do you dislike it, yet still water it to maintain the look? Do you have a large area of lawn, that you would like to decrease in size, and add in plants that don't use as much water? Not only do I do Landscape Design projects, I am a Watersense Partner of the EPA, and a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL). Let me come and take a look at your irrigation system. I will see your plants, examine your irrigation system, check for inefficient water usage, (i.e. run times, run off, and are your plants being over-watered? (Most are by 100-300%!) Or, are your plants not getting sufficient water? The answer is not to always increase your run times on your irrigation system to correct this. There are more efficient means. Contact me via the contact page, or directly at my email listed on the contact page and I would be happy to talk to you about your irrigation needs.
